Peter Schiff (R), president of Euro Pacific Capital, is only 2 points behind incumbant Chis Dodd (D) in a head to head contest according to a new poll by Rasmussen.  

This is really exciting since Peter Schiff was the economic advisor for the Ron Paul presidential campaign.  Over on his campaign web site, SchiffforSenate.com, it shows he has raised over a million dollars.  I believe 50 thousand of that is his own money.  I also believe he has stated that he would donate more to his own campaign if he runs.  There are also rumors that he will be announcing his run on the Morning Joe Thursday September 17th.

Peter is still going to need millions to run against Dodd, but with things so close so early I think Peter has a good shot at Dodd if he can get past the primaries.  However, not a bad start for Peter considering he hasn’t even announced.  It will definitely be interesting to see his fund raising power if/when he announces.  Can the grassroots keep him funded enough to get his message out?  So far it looks like he doesn’t need much money considering the poll.  My hopes are high!
