Everyone is saying No to Obama

A few days ago I came across this article, Analysis: Why everyone is saying no to Obama. I didn’t think much of it, but it did have some good points in it like how North Korea is saying no to talks. China and Russia keep saying no to tougher sanctions on Iran. The Palestinian Authority is saying no to meet with Isreal and vise versa with Isreal not meeting with the Palestinian Authority. Don’t forget about the Saudi’s saying no to Isreal’s demands. Then there’s also no to his healthcare plan, cap and trade, and his union bill he wants past. Lastly, there’s the no vote to Olympics in Chicago, which in my opinion was a total waste of time and money to even go to basically beg to have it in Chicago.

I think it’s great that everyone is saying no to him. I just hope that it keeps up. However, to my surprise the media is finally starting to slowly catch on. The blog-o-sphere is much faster to recognize these trends than the media. Even comedy shows like SNL pick up on it quicker as seen from their skit below.

Anti-ACORN Bill to De-fund Military-Industrial Complex

Is this too good to be true? The actual de-funding of the entire military industrial complex? It seems according to The Huffington Post that’s what the Anti-ACORN bill could actually do.

The congressional legislation intended to defund ACORN, passed with broad bipartisan support, is written so broadly that it applies to “any organization” that has been charged with breaking federal or state election laws, lobbying disclosure laws, campaign finance laws or filing fraudulent paperwork with any federal or state agency. It also applies to any of the employees, contractors or other folks affiliated with a group charged with any of those things.

In other words, the bill could plausibly defund the entire military-industrial complex. Whoops.

What makes this whole debacle even better is Representative Alan Grayson (D-Fla) noticed the broadly written bill and started a list of companies that would be affected by this legislation. He’s even made it available on a Google spreadsheet so if you know of anyone or any company that should be on the list “so that judges can reference it when determining whether a company should be denied federal funds.”

It is about time that the government does something right! It’s also very refreshing to see that Alan Grayson is there to pick up on it and make things easy for the courts to uphold the law!

I can’t help to be laughing hysterically and wonder what law makers are going to do next. Will it pass the Senate? Will Obama sign it into law?

Political Stuff:

The folks that are making Freedom Watch are trying to get the show on FOX News. As a result they aren’t putting it on youtube any longer in order to get the view count up. That means no more play lists. One thing I would like to note about the guests on the show today. The economist Walter Williams is a guest today. I found an old 80s video from mises.org about the minimum wage and the consequences. Very smart man Walter is!
